He is a very optimistic person who is bound to make it work for him, even though his life has changed drastically and dramatically. That does not mean we leave it at that, we cannot let him down. He deserves all the support to get his life on track as best he can. Needless to say, he and his friends and colleagues are tapping into all available possible resources. But that will not be enough to give him what he deserves and needs.

Initiative

Therefore, on the initiative of the card club ‘The Gorillas’, a foundation has been set up. Based in Curaçao, the Ficamos Felizes em Ajudar (Portuguese for ‘Happy to Help’) foundation has the advantage that donations are not subject to taxation for the recipient. The disadvantage for you is that these donations are not tax deductible for you in the Netherlands. If we would accommodate tax deductible donations, the foundation would have to move to the Dutch ANBI status. This then also means that support has to be given not only to Fabricio but also to others who fall within the purpose statement and submit a reasonable application. Because the goal is to only help Fabricio further, it was decided to have the Ficamos Felizes em Ajudar foundation set up on Curaçao.
